Text Technologies Press
Study Early Modern Print!
200 students from a Shakespeare course visited the press in sections to spend a day learning how the First Folio was printed.
Stop the Presses
We have two table-top clamshell platen presses and several sorts of type in 8 and 12 point. More equipment is added frequently!
The Text Technologies Press is a collaboration of the CHPDC and the SLIS Library. The press is a full service typography and letterpress printing shop for teaching book history, book arts, design, art, and making. It is available to individuals and classes for hands on learning and experimentation with letterpress typography and printing. Contact Jonathan Senchyne (email@example.com) or Anjali Bhasin (firstname.lastname@example.org) to schedule a visit.
Watch the video below for a quick introduction to the basics of using the press.
