Free Letterpress Workshops at Madison Public Library Branches

In collaboration with the SLIS Library and The Bubbler, the Text Technologies Press is holding letterpress workshops at Madison Public Library Branches this summer! Bring friends, kids, and yourself out to your neighborhood branch to try printing your words with lead type, ink, and paper!

The Center for the History of Print and Digital Culture is proud to enact the Wisconsin Idea by bringing printing to our community libraries! These workshops are possible because of funding for the Text Technologies Press provided by the Kemper-Knapp Bequest and the Evjue Foundation.

For twenty-five years, the Center for the History of Print and Digital Culture has been fostering the interdisciplinary study of print and digital culture, through lectures and colloquia, biennial conferences, short-term research and long-term postdoctoral fellowships, a book series, and as a home for campus research groups. We encourage scholarly work on the authorship, reading, publication and distribution of print–and now digital–materials, produced by those not only at the center, but also the periphery of power.
